The beginning. Again.
New website host, new website platform (a nice simple one), minimal fancy features, because honestly I just want to be able to share my thoughts on my own terms, and if we have a similarity of interests, perhaps we can connect. Lord knows the internet is full of chaff over the past 35 years of billions of people spewing it.
Astro Installed: Technically, a second time. Still, ensured Node.js was set up, then VS Code, then the Astro and GitHub plugins, then the GitHub workflow to publish on commit. It’s all working. Many thanks to the Claude browser extension - probably saved a day of effort figuring all that out.
Initial Pages Created: Set up a home, about, and blog page. I’m following the tutorial at https://docs.astro.build/en/tutorial - very helpful.
First Post: You’re reading it. One thing I like about the Astro function is that I can write in Markdown, which I really like (I’ve been using Obsidian for 4 or 5 years at this point), and it makes it easier to move things around. Who knew the future would be written in text files?
Completing the Astro tutorial, and then keep adding more posts. Watch this space for more to come.
